In Memoriam: Arch Roberts, 2008's Champ

The annual NFLCPT is modeled on the American Crossword Puzzle Tournament (ACPT), and guest hosted by puzzlemaster Merl Reagle, both featured in the documentary, Wordplay. The tournament is open to puzzlers of all interest levels, and the grand prize is a trip to compete in the ACPT in Brooklyn. Proceeds each year are donated to The Generation Connection.

NFLCPT 2010: Thank You!

A record 90+ contestants participated in the 4th Annual North Florida Crossword Puzzle Tournament in Gainesville to benefit The Generation Connection. First place finisher George Hyde of Tampa won a trip to the ACPT in Brooklyn, and Les Feministas again captured the team competition. Overall proceeds will sponsor 11 kids who could otherwise not afford to attend this year's camp to be held July 12-16. Thanks to all who made this happen!

Tournament Details

Saturday February 13, 2010 from 9:00am-1:00pm
Paramount Plaza Hotel & Suites
2900 SW 13 Street, Gainesville, FL (Google Map)

  • doors open at 8:30am, tournament begins 9am sharp
  • $40 per person to enter/$100 per team of 3
  • Students & Seniors: $30 per person to enter/$75 per team of 3
  • Walk-ins welcome if space is available
  • Coffee and Krispy Kreme doughnuts provided
  • Lunches available for purchase at event
  • Donation for spectators
  • Everyone guaranteed at least 2 rounds
  • Prizes to the winners
