At The Generation Connection, we aim to organize a range of interesting and enriching events for our youth and senior campers to attend. We provide meals, snacks, and transportation for all our events. Here is a list of upcoming and completed events for 2016:
Upcoming Events
NHL Game: Nashville Predators Game, Oct 1
Camper Fee: FREE
This is a free, one-day trip to see the Nashville Predators play in the Bridgestone Arena. It will include a workshop provided by the Predators Foundation, and a lunch provided by local restaurant Lockland Table. All TGC and Camp Discover campers from the traveling camp are invited; additional slots will be open for registration if available.
Recent Events
Traveling Camp, July 18-20
Camper Fee: $250
This is the classic TGC camp: it features a three-day trip to breathtaking locations like the Foster Falls, Elk River, and the Sewanee University Campus. We will be staying two nights at the Dubose Recreational Center, and all meals and snacks will be provided. Campers will participate in the making of a camp video (see our videos page), and will be invited to come see a free Predator’s game in the fall.
Chicken Extravaganza, May 21
A one-day outing to the Chicken Extravaganza Festival organized by the Dixon Springs Historical Society. The kids had a great time playing with the animals, splashing in the stream, enjoyed a delicious lunch, and got to visit a house from the 1700’s where the future king of France once lived! Fishing and Tennis, June 17
Camper Fee: FREE
A free, one day event at the Shelby Recreational Center and and Shelby Park. Local mentors will be leading workshops on fishing and tennis. Equipment and lunch from a local restaurant will be provided free of charge.
Canoeing on Duck River, July 6-7
Camper Fee: $50
An exciting canoeing adventure down Duck River with an overnight stay at a camp site. We will be joined by members from the Sierra club, and will be joined by a park ranger for a nature workshop.
